About Me
“I was born in the town of Leamington Spa in England in 1961. Leamington is the home of one of the two acupuncture colleges in the UK. My mother was a nurse and interested in alternative therapies and would bring books home on the subject. I became interested in alternative therapies at an early age but it wasn’t until I was living in Australia in the early 1980’s that I recognized the modality of Homeopathy as the direction I wanted to pursue.“
Education
“I returned to the UK and studied at the College of Homeopathy in London, graduating in 1989. I have been practicing homeopathy ever since. After my graduation I immediately enrolled to study with Jeremy Sherr at the Dynamis school. After studying with Jeremy I started doing some tutorial work with students and lecturing at the London College of Classical Homeopathy (LCCH).“
Publishing
“I was approached by Churchill Livingston Books in 1992 and asked to work on a book about homeopathy for the profession. I chose to edit the works of C. M. Boger an internationally recognized American homeopath of the early twentieth century. In 1994 the book “C.M. Bogers Collected Writings” was published. Since the book is currently out of print, I’m going to make it available here on this site. In 1997 another book I compiled and edited about another renowned American Homeopath of the first half of the twentieth century Royal E. S. Hayes, was published in Prague, Czech Republic where I was living and working at that time. Some of these papers will also be available on this site.“
Teaching Internationally
“In 1993 while working for the LCCH, I became involved through the college, in a project of teaching homeopathy to the doctors in eastern European countries who had been denied access or the right to study alternative therapies under the communist regimes. This project involved setting up programs in the Czech Republic, Slovakian Republic, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. This resulted after the academic portion of the trainings in my living in Prague, Czech Republic for two years working with the Hahnemann Foundation of the Czech Republic and the other countries mentioned in doing clinical supervision work to help the graduating doctors and practitioners get oriented clinically with homeopathy. In 1995 and 1996 I also taught in Sweden.“
Teaching in USA
“During this period I was invited to teach a seminar in Delaware, USA which was well received and so I was invited back again and eventually offered a position of teaching the Allen Academy three year part time program which ran twice in Wilmington, Delaware. During this period I moved to the USA in 1997 and have worked here in Delaware for all but two of the twenty years since I first moved to the US. My teaching work was not confined to Delaware and I was a core faculty member at The School of Homeopathy New York, New York City between 2000 and 2006. In 2006 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona for two years working as Assistant Director of the three year part time school program and with the prospective opening of the American Medical College of Homeopathy. I returned here to Delaware in 2008. I’ve also done occasional teachings in California, Texas and New Jersey.“
Continued education and research
“In recent years I’ve worked in various areas of interest and research and studied especially with Dr. Massimo Mangialavori and his “Method of Complexity” and with the Indian Homeopaths associated with Dr. Rajan Sankaran and the Mumbai School. I’ve also kept abreast of the developments in “classical homeopathy” since some good work has been done on resurrecting old master works such as Bonninghausens repertory and on works other homeopaths have come forward with such as Jan Scholten of the Netherlands and Dr. Pratful Vijayakar of India. Over the course of the last thirty years I’ve also taken part in a number of “provings” (research into the healing potential of both new and old remedies) and conducted several provings with my own students. These have included provings of Urtica-urens, Abrotanum, Phytollaca, Tilia cordata, Maclura pomifera and Gossypium herbaceum.“
When I look back on my journey of the last 30 years in homeopathy I can say I feel fortunate to have found a vocation so satisfying and absorbing. Work done because one passionately wants to do it, is a most wonderful and satisfying thing.
